AI data centers in Ohio
I don't want to live next to one. Local communities should have a seat at the table in any data center negotiation - no more NDAs for elected officials. If a data center is going to be installed, there needs to be robust regulatory framework that ensures that it doesn't pollute people out of their homes, and that we're not subsidizing mega-corporations' profits on our backs. And we need to stop negotiating against ourselves. No more tax abatements or sweetheart deals. Remediation expenses need to be funded up-front, and held in trust for when the facility is retired as well.

Israel and its recent actions
The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza distresses me deeply. The scale of civilian death, the starvation, and the destruction are not defensible. I also believe October 7th was a horror and that Israel's security and the safety of Jewish people are legitimate concerns.
And while it's uncomfortable to hold those competing realities about what's happening abroad, what's truly untenable is the friction it has caused here at home. This conflict has emboldened antisemites and Islamophobes both, and I firmly believe our Jewish and Muslim friends and neighbors deserve to feel safe in their own communities.
